We are seeking a reliable, confident and flexible Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team at a thriving secondary school in the Chester area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who is looking to develop their skills in a school environment.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher, ensuring that students remain on task and continue to make progress in their learning.

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences.

• Deliver lessons provided by teaching staff, ensuring students stay engaged and follow the set work.

• Manage student behaviour in line with the school’s policies and procedures.

• Provide feedback to relevant teaching staff regarding student progress and any issues that arise during cover.

• Support the wider school team as needed, including during break/lunch duties or administrative support.

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students (in a school, youth work or similar setting).

• Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.

• A flexible and professional attitude.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
