1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEMH Support - Year 1)

We are supporting a primary school that is looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 1 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a vital role where you'll help build trust, confidence, and structure in a nurturing learning environment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 1 with SEMH needs.

• Work alongside the class teacher and SEND team to deliver tailored interventions.

• Support emotional regulation, encourage positive behaviour, and implement behaviour support strategies.

• Build strong, trusting relationships with the pupil and contribute to their overall well-being and progress.

• Record and report on progress, behaviours, and any safeguarding concerns.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs (preferably in a school setting).

• Is patient, calm, and emotionally resilient.

• Can use initiative and remain consistent with boundaries and expectations.

• Has a nurturing approach and a strong understanding of the importance of emotional well-being.

• Understands safeguarding and child protection procedures.
