Teaching Assistant - SEMH

Hays Education is excited to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant for an alternative provision unit within an SEN school in Disley, Stockport. This unique role involves working both in the classroom and outdoors with students who have anxiety and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students in an alternative provision unit, helping them to engage with their education in a non-traditional setting. The role involves a number of outdoor activities, providing a therapeutic and stimulating environment for the students. You will work closely with students who have anxiety and SEMH needs, offering both academic and emotional support to help them thrive.

Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a compassionate and adaptable individual with experience in supporting students with SEMH needs. The ideal candidate will have a background in SEN education and a passion for outdoor learning. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students are essential qualities for this role.

Key Requirements:
Experience in SEN education
Understanding of SEMH needs and anxiety
Ability to work outdoors and engage students in outdoor activities
Compassionate, patient, and adaptable
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students
