Job Description - SEN - SEBD Teacher

Are you a passionate and resilient educator ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated SEMH (Social emotional mental health) Teacher to join our supportive and forward-thinking team, where every day is an opportunity to inspire, support, and transform lives.

About the Role:

As an SEMH Teacher, you will work with students who experience social, emotional, and mental health challenges, delivering a tailored curriculum that supports both academic progress and emotional development. You’ll create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel valued, understood, and empowered to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet the needs of SEMH learners.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes emotional well-being and resilience.
  • Work closely with pastoral teams, SENCOs, and external agencies to support individual learning plans.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies to ensure success.
  • Promote positive behaviour and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (in mainstream or specialist settings).
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
