Job Description - SEN - Sen Teaching Assistant

Join our fabulous SEND School in Wilmslow in an exciting and rewarding role as an SEN Teaching Assistant. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a bespoke education provision for children with ASC/SEMH needs. If you are passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of children with special educational needs, this role is for you.

Day-to-day of the role:

•    Support children with their learning and general wellbeing to ensure they have the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment.

•    Assist with care needs and positive behaviour management when necessary, adopting a tailored approach to each child.

•    Establish a warm, supportive relationship with pupils, helping them feel safe and enjoy their learning experience.

•    Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities.

•    Work 1:1 with students or in small groups to deliver personalised learning.

•    Be flexible and ready to assist with various duties as needed to support the overall function of the school.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

•    Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting.

•    GCSE Maths and English Level 3 or above.

•    A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent is desirable.

•    Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.

•    Full UK driving licence and access to your own car is desirable.

•    Ability to adapt and treat each child as an individual.

•    Positive and creative approach to meeting pupils' individual needs.

•    Ability to work 1:1 with students and drive school vehicles for off-site trips (desirable).
