SEN - Sen Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA2) to join our team at a local primary school. This role involves working full-time with a Year 2 pupil who exhibits challenging behaviour and significant social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The ideal candidate will be resilient and experienced in handling similar situations in an educational setting.

• Provide tailored support to a Year 2 pupil with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.
• Implement strategies to manage behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
• Work closely with the classroom teacher to integrate educational and behavioural management plans.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Utilise team-teach training techniques for physical handling when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of both pupil and staff.
• Monitor and report on the pupil's progress to teachers and parents.

• Must be trained in positive handling and able to apply physical handling strategies safely.
• Proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with challenging behaviours and SEMH.
• Resilient nature and strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents.
