SEND Teaching Assistant- Liverpool

Milk Education are recruiting for a purpose-driven, ambitious SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Huyton, Liverpool to work on a long-term or short-term basis starting as soon as possible!

You’ll be joining an inclusive and supportive school, focused on diversity and promoting a loving academic environment for those with additional needs.

This is an exciting role for an experienced educator to join a fantastic school to support pupils in reaching their potential!

You will play a vital role in supporting students both in and outside of the classroom, helping them access learning and develop life skills. This position requires patience, flexibility, and a strong belief in every young person’s potential.

• Provide day-to-day classroom and individual support to students with ASD and complex needs

• Work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo to implement learning plans

• Support with emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour

• Build meaningful relationships with students, promoting trust and consistency

• Assist with personal care when required (training provided if necessary)

• Help maintain a calm, safe, and structured learning environment

• Resilient, calm, and confident when working in high-need SEN environments

• Experience supporting children or young people with ASD and complex needs (preferred)

• Team Teach trained or willing to undergo behaviour management training (highly desirable)

• Excellent communication skills and a team player attitude

• Ability to use initiative and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving setting
