SEN TA Role - Cardiff

Teaching Assistant (SEN) - Cardiff - £90 per day

Academics - Acting as an agency on behalf of schools in Cardiff - is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a variety of primary and secondary schools across the Cardiff area.

This is a temporary role, with opportunities for long-term or permanent placements for the right candidate.

Job Details:

• Position: Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs - SEN)
• Location: Cardiff and surrounding areas
• Type: Temporary (potential for permanent)
• Pay: £90 per day (this includes holiday pay)
• Start Date: September 2025

Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs (ALN/SEN), including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored support
• Assist with personal care if required
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to obtain)
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with SEN/ALN students
• Relevant training and qualifications in education or child development are desirable
• Excellent communication skills and a patient, flexible approach
