Job Description - SEN Teacher

KS3 SEN Teacher - Full-Time - Dunstable
Location: Dunstable
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner)
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 4:00pm, early finish on Fridays

Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in Dunstable to appoint a Key Stage 3 SEN Teacher on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people with a range of additional needs.

The School
This small but growing specialist setting caters for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and communication and interaction needs. The school is known for its nurturing environment, strong focus on individual progress, and collaborative staff culture.

The Role
You will be responsible for delivering a creative and adapted curriculum to a small class of Key Stage 3 pupils, supported by experienced Teaching Assistants. The successful teacher will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to individual EHCPs

  • Create a calm and supportive classroom environment that enables all pupils to thrive

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support pupil progress and well-being

  • Maintain regular communication with families and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)

  • Experience teaching pupils with ASD, MLD, or similar SEN

  • Strong understanding of inclusive practice and differentiated teaching

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach
