SEN Teaching Assistant 1:1 Support for Child with Autism

We are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with autism in a primary school in Leeds from April to July. This role is ideal for someone patient, nurturing, and experienced in supporting children with additional needs.

• Provide individualised support for a child with autism to help them access learning
• Assist in developing social and communication skills in a structured and supportive way
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and interventions
• Use visual aids, sensory strategies, and structured routines to support learning and behaviour
• Encourage independence and confidence while ensuring the child's well-being
• Monitor progress and adapt support as needed to meet the child's evolving needs
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

• Experience working 1:1 with children with autism or other additional needs
• Understanding of autism and effective strategies to support learning and social development
• A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
