Job Description - SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 2
Location:
Barnet, N12 (commutable from Edgware, Mill Hill, Hendon, Colindale, Finchley, and Harrow)
Daily Pay: £95 - £110
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier for the final week of term)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term

Long Term Futures are supporting a well-respected and inclusive primary school in Barnet who are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role involves providing one-on-one support for a delightful Year 2 pupil who has a rare brittle bone condition, requiring specialist care, manual handling and hoist support.

About the Role

  • This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child's educational journey. The successful Teaching Assistant will:
  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support to ensure the pupil can access learning safely
  • Assist with manual handling, hoisting and positioning, following the pupil's care plan at all times
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external specialists
  • Support the child's social, emotional, and academic development
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

This full-time position is set to start in September 2025, but the school would welcome the right candidate to start earlier during the final week of term to allow for a smooth transition.

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant supporting children with complex physical needs
