SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Wrexham, North Wales
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Temporary / Permanent (varies by employer)

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
• Support pupils with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and emotional/behavioural challenges.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
• Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
• Assist with personal care tasks if required (e.g., toileting, feeding).
• Foster independence and confidence in pupils.

• Experience working with children with SEN (in school or care settings).
• Patience, empathy, and a calm, supportive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are often desirable but not always essential.

• Team player with a proactive attitude.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Flexibility to work across different age groups and settings.
