SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) TA who has a patient and calm personality to join a secondary school in Crosby starting September 2025. The ideal candidate will have dedication for going above and beyond for a child who presents SEN difficulties and challenging behaviour. This role provides an opportunity to make a real difference in a child's life by providing dedicated support and encouragement.

SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Crosby, L23

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Long-term

Working Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Pay: Paid to scale

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to a child with SEN difficulties and challenging behaviour, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning activities.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Support classroom teachers with daily activities and help maintain a stimulating classroom atmosphere.
• Encourage student independence and self-confidence.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with SEND pupils.
• Experience working within a school or similar setting.
• Team Teach Qualification (desirable).
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
• Ability to provide two professional references.
