SEN Teaching Assistant

• Location: Clapham South, Lambeth

• Start Date: ASAP

• Contract: Full-time, term-time only

• Salary: £95 - £110 depending on experience

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Lambeth (near Clapham South station) is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:

• Work closely with a pupil with special educational needs, ensuring their learning and social development are supported in line with their EHCP.

• Assist the class teacher in adapting resources and strategies to make learning accessible.

• Encourage independence while promoting positive behaviour and engagement.

• Provide one-to-one and small group interventions when required.

• Collaborate with the SENCo, class teachers, and external professionals to deliver high-quality support.

• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.

• Knowledge of supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs.

• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to learning support.

• Strong communication skills to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
