A welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Tower Hamlets is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support a child with autism on a 1 to 1 basis within their specialist SEN provision.

The Role
This role involves working closely with a child in Year 3 who has a diagnosis of autism and benefits from structured, individualised support. You will assist the pupil across the school day, both in the classroom and during social times, helping them access learning, develop communication and interaction skills, and build positive relationships with peers. The child attends a dedicated SEN provision within the mainstream setting, and you will be part of a small, supportive team led by experienced SEN staff.
You will work under the guidance of the class teacher, SENCO and specialist therapists, contributing to planning, providing regular feedback, and supporting the child’s individual targets. This position is full-time and offered for the duration of the academic year.

The School
This vibrant 3-form-entry school is located in the heart of Tower Hamlets, with excellent transport connections. The school is known for its strong sense of community and inclusive ethos, celebrating diversity and providing a nurturing environment for all learners. The leadership team is forward-thinking and supportive, with a clear commitment to professional development and inclusive education. The on-site SEN provision is well-resourced and plays an integral role in the wider school community, offering tailored support for children with autism and other needs.

We have a policy to respond to all applications within three working days. However, because of the volume of applications, we are sometimes unable to reply to individual enquiries.
