Send Learning Support Assistant required

Classroom Teachers Ltd are looking for an LSA or support worker to assist a student for 15 hours a week (over 5 days)

The position is to work alongside an experienced Tutor to support the child.

Student: The student is 6 years old and has very complex needs which will be discussed with the candidate in detail. The student has been diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD)

Academically the student is below age related levels, the learning days are spent focussing more on behaviour and teaching self-regulating/ calming strategies. The student needs constant supervision to ensure his safety and the safety of others.

The position is to start ASAP and will be on a temporary, ongoing basis.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Starting ASAP - Long-term temporary contract until the end of term
Working with an experienced tutor to help the student progress
Providing a stimulating & enjoyable learning environment
Rate of pay - £20.00ph

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

• Previous SEN experience or understanding of different needs including ASD.
• Experience with PECS, Makaton, ABA, TEAACH or SPELL preferred but not essential.
• You must be passionate, enthusiastic and caring towards others
• Able to communicate well with staff members

An in date enhanced DBS or one registered on the online update service in essential as the role is to start ASAP.
