SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant | Support Roles in Sutton

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support a range of SEND schools across Sutton. These are full-time, long-term roles, ideal for individuals with a degree and a passion for working with young people with additional needs.

The Role:

• Provide tailored classroom support to students with SEND, helping them access the curriculum and develop key life skills
• Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement individual learning plans (EHCPs)
• Foster an inclusive, nurturing environment that supports emotional regulation, social development, and learning
• Assist with classroom organisation and behaviour management, adapting approaches to meet diverse needs
• Support students in both 1:1 and small group settings, promoting independence and confidence

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• A degree (required) in any subject - psychology, education, or related fields are particularly valued
• A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with special educational needs
• Previous experience working with SEND students (highly desirable)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Two recent references and the legal right to work in the UK
