SEND Teaching Assistant / Child Support Worker – Special Needs School – Bradford

Milk Education are working in partnership with a fantastic Special Needs School in Bradford, which supports pupils with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. We are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant / Child Support Worker to join the team on a full-time, term-time only basis, working Monday to Friday, 08:30am – 3:30pm.

This is a brilliant opportunity for individuals with experience in adult care, health and social care, or support work, who are looking to transition into the education sector. This role offers more sociable working hours and the chance to make a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities – SEND Teaching Assistant / Child Support Worker:

• Supporting the Class Teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Assisting pupils with personal care, including feeding and changing when required
• Managing and promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies
• Supporting children with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and SEMH needs
• Accompanying pupils on school trips and community outings

Requirements – Child Support Worker / SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Must have recent experience working with children or adults with learning disabilities
• Background in care work, health and social care, or support work is highly desirable
• Comfortable with providing personal care as part of the role
• Must have GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
• A calm, patient, and nurturing personality with a passion for helping others
