Long Term Futures is working with a forward-thinking primary school in Shirebrook to recruit a skilled SENDCO for a full-time leadership role. This is a non-classroom-based position focused on leading SEND strategy, coaching staff, and driving inclusive teaching across the school.

The Role

You will:

• Lead and enhance SEND provision throughout the school.
• Work alongside the Principal and SLT to promote a culture of high expectations and inclusion.
• Coach teachers on effective SEND practices, especially around scaffolding and adaptive teaching.
• Support planning that uses the latest research in SEND education.
• Collaborate with families, external agencies, and the local authority to ensure pupil needs are met.
• Monitor progress and ensure EHCPs and statutory obligations are fully upheld.

What We're Looking For

• A qualified teacher with the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO / NPQ for SENDCOs).
• Recent SENDCO experience in a primary school.
• Strong in coaching, team teaching, and evidence-based SEND strategies.
• Solid grasp of SEND legislation, EHCP processes, and inclusive pedagogy.
• A clear, confident leader who can drive change effectively.
• Desirable: Familiarity with Derbyshire's SEND systems.
