Senior Accountant

A Local Authority in Greater Manchester are looking to appoint a talented Senior Accountant on an Interim basis, are working with Spencer Clarke Group to find a successful candidate.

What's on offer:

• Rates: £200 + per day, inside IR35.

*Negotiable based on experience

• Contract type: Contract (37 hrs a week)
• Hours: 09:00 -17:00

About the role -Place Directorate:

This role will play a crucial role in supporting the objectives of the Capital Finance Team in building relationships, maintaining value for money and coming up with new and innovative ways of working.

Responsibilities:

Based in Manchester:

• You will work alongside the other Finance professionals and be responsible for the effective delivery of cost management, budget review and highlighting efficiencies across directorates.
• You will ensure that accurate financial records are maintained on our general ledger and supporting system.

• You will prepare, analyse and interpret financial information to contribute to the preparation of accounts, statutory returns and reports on financial performance.

About you:
You will have the following experience:

• Significant accounting and commercial experience involving funding models; management accounting; business partnering & preparing budgets and forecasts
• The ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders using a variety of forms of communication.
• Previous knowledge and experience of working in a Local Authority is required.
