Senior Accounts Assistant

• Location: Central Oxford, fully office based!
• Job Type: Full-time, Temporary 36.5 hours per week

Reed Accountancy Oxfordshire are currently working with a central Oxford based organisation seeking a Senior Accounts Assistant. This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a college renowned for its commitment to inclusivity and diversity. The role demands a high level of accuracy and efficiency in handling various financial tasks within a complex and busy environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Record, process, and reconcile invoices.
• Manage ledger postings and receipts.
• Address and resolve queries promptly.
• Process monthly payroll using Sage payroll.
• Prepare and manage payroll journals, reconciliations, and year-end reporting.
• Conduct weekly bank account reconciliations and manage outstanding debtors.
• Prepare internal recharges and reconcile control accounts.
• Generate and analyse Aged Debtor Reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths, Grade C or above.
• Proven experience in a financial environment, preferably within higher education.
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Flexible and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
