Your new role
Hays Procurement are recruiting on an exclusive basis a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to join a specialist manufacturing business in Scunthorpe. This role is pivotal in driving the company's procurement strategy and ensuring the efficient acquisition of high-quality materials and services. The successful candidate will lead negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and oversee the procurement process to support our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet company goals.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
• Manage and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability.
• Oversee the procurement process, from sourcing to delivery.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfil their procurement needs.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on procurement activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in a senior buyer or procurement role.
• Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

• Rate of £21.00 - £24.00 per hour, negotiable, depending on experience.
