SF Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading manufacturing business based in Derby to recruit a Senior Category Buyer on a temporary contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly reputable and well-established company, providing critical procurement support to a fast-paced, commercially driven team.

This hybrid role offers flexibility with up to 2 days working from home and the chance to make a real impact in a dynamic procurement function.

• Develop and implement category strategies aligned with overall business objectives

• Lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle across multiple categories

• Manage supplier relationships and performance, tracking key KPIs and driving improvements

• Negotiate competitive terms, ensuring cost efficiency and value for money

• Support wider business initiatives including budgeting, forecasting, and cross-functional projects

• Proven experience in a Senior Buyer / Category Manager role, ideally within manufacturing or engineering

• Strong commercial acumen and confident negotiating skills

• Proficiency in ERP systems

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment

• You must be immediately available or due to finish an existing contract

• Able to commit to a hybrid working arrangement with a Derby-based office
