Senior Commercial Manager

Senior Commercial Management - Procurement - Public Sector - SC Clearance - 6 month contract (inside IR35)

I am looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager with a strong background in public sector procurement to join a busy team. The role is for an initial 6-month contract, based in London with hybrid working arrangements.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage strategic procurement initiatives, working closely with a broad range of stakeholders across government departments. The role may involve occasional international travel, so a degree of flexibility is required.

Due to the urgency and nature of the role, candidates with active SC clearance would be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end commercial and procurement activity in line with public sector regulations and best practice.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with departmental and government requirements.
• Manage complex end-to-end procurement exercises, ensuring value for money, compliance, and robust contract management.
• Engage effectively with senior stakeholders across departments and partner organisations, both in the UK and overseas.
• Provide expert commercial advice and guidance to support high-impact projects and programmes.
• Maintain strong governance and assurance throughout procurement processes.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in a senior commercial or procurement role within the UK public sector.
• Deep understanding of public procurement regulations and industry tools
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical capability.
• Experience working with or within overseas departments or international government partners would be a distinct advantage.
• CIPS qualification (or equivalent) preferred.
