About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Communications Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will take ownership of delivering high-quality communications systems design across a range of infrastructure sectors including defence, government, nuclear, and transportation. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, can confidently manage project deliverables, and is looking to broaden both technical and digital capabilities in a client-facing role.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and delivery of communications systems, including BMS, CCTV, access control, IDS, PAVA, structured cabling, and network infrastructure.
Liaise with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Support installation and commissioning stages, including site visits.
Manage work packages and ensure timely delivery.
Contribute to business development activities and mentor junior team members.
Produce reports, specifications, and technical documentation to industry standards.
Collaborate on BIM modelling using software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
Requirements:
Degree-qualified in Communications, Electronic Engineering, ICT or similar.
Chartered Engineer or working toward chartership.
Extensive design experience in construction or transportation.
Skilled in systems integration and understanding of IP data networking.
Previous experience in engineering consultancy and RIBA/BSRIA design stages.
Strong communication and report writing skills.
Familiarity with AV systems and digital design tools is a plus.
