Senior Credit Analyst FTC

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Underwriter to join their UK Credit Team, which is responsible for delivering asset-based facilities for business clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to apply strong analytical skills within a growing and supportive environment, assessing and underwriting asset finance facilities for SME and corporate customers.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out credit assessments and underwriting for soft asset classes (limited collateral value).

Conduct full credit due diligence on asset finance requests up to £500k, including financial, product, and industry analysis.

Structure, underwrite, and document facilities that balance client and investor needs.

Collaborate with sales, asset management, and pricing teams to ensure accurate information is captured, risk is minimised, and profitability is maximised.

Produce high-quality credit reports for new facility requests.

Prepare and support credit ratings in line with company policy.

Manage approvals within personal authority or escalate to the appropriate credit authority.

Hold and exercise a personal credit authority (analyst level typically up to £250k).

Provide support on counter-fraud and regulatory tasks within the Credit Department.

Depending on experience, provide mentoring and supervision to junior team members.

About You

Proven credit assessment/underwriting experience within financial services.

Demonstrated use of a personal credit authority.

Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver independent analysis and decision-making.

Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.

Able to quickly build credibility with stakeholders across multiple teams.

Leadership or mentoring experience is desirable but not essential.
