Rate: £45.86 per hour (via umbrella)

Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Disposals Officer to join a local authority team based in Shefford. This is a key role supporting the Council’s medium-term financial plan through the delivery of capital receipts from property disposals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert advice and guidance on property-related contractual matters, including legal, analytical, and regulatory issues.
• Act as the “intelligent client” when working with consultants and external professionals.
• Deliver capital receipts through the sale of land and buildings on a freehold or leasehold basis.
• Enhance asset value through planning and market opportunities, in line with RICS, CIPFA, and constitutional regulations.
• Produce technical reports and collaborate with third-party experts and consultants.
• Build and maintain relationships across the Council to support priority projects and day-to-day operations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in property disposals, estate management, or asset strategy within a public sector or local authority setting.
• Strong understanding of RICS and CIPFA standards.
• Ability to manage complex property transactions and deliver against financial targets.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and report writing skills.
• Experience working with legal and planning professionals.
