Senior Finance Officer

Venn Group is partnered with an education charity to recruit a Senior Finance Officer for a short-term interim contract. This role will provide essential support to the finance team in ensuring that financial transactions are accurately posted in preparation for management accounts and year-end.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Process and manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments
• Oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, and follow-up on overdue payments
• Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate financial records
• Approve invoices on Sicon, ensuring compliance with company procedures
• Assist with VAT returns, ensuring accurate and timely submissions
• Support month-end and year-end closing, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Ensure compliance with financial controls and assist with audit preparation

Essential candidate criteria:

• AAT qualified or ACCA/CIMA part-qualified
• Proven experience in a finance role within the charity sector
• Familiarity with Sage 200, 50 Payroll, and Sicon/WAP
• Highly reliable, adaptable, and detail-oriented

Pay rate: £160 – £180 per day

Working hours: Full time

Working pattern: Hybrid (1 day per week in office)
