Senior Financial Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join a forward-thinking finance team on a 10-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This position can pay a pro-rata salary of £55,000-£62,000 (D.O.E) and as well as this can offer a hybrid working scenario of 4 days from home and 1 day in the office.

This is a pivotal role supporting the implementation of a new finance system and contributing to the financial integrity of a large public sector organization. You’ll be working alongside a supportive team during a period of significant transformation.

• Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts including payroll, lease obligations, receivables, and payables.
• Monitor and forecast cash flow, ensuring accurate reporting and returns.
• Lead the preparation of monthly financial reporting packs and dashboards.
• Manage high-value invoice payment files
• Prepare detailed working papers for statutory accounts and annual reports.
• Support internal and external audits with timely and accurate documentation.

You’ll bring a positive, can-do attitude, strong organizational skills, and a high level of competency in finance systems. You’ll be comfortable working with complex financial data and have a proven ability to communicate effectively across teams.

• ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to present complex information clearly.
