Senior Financial Accountant

We are supporting a well-established international financial services organisation in the search for qualifed Accountant on an 18-month fixed-term contract. You will need to be a strong technical accountant with excellent communication skills and some experience of management accounting as this role offers the rare opportunity to do both. Previous experience of working in the Financial Services sector is requred for this position.

This is a full-time role, based 4 days per week in the office and 1 day working from home, offering a competitive package.

The Role

This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic, close-knit banking environment, with broad exposure across core finance activities. The successful candidate will also play a key role in supporting all financial reporting and management accounting, as well as being commercially focussed making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a change-driven setting.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Own and maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial information
• Produce monthly management accounts, including performance analysis against budget and commentary for senior stakeholders
• Prepare daily and periodic financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet and key liquidity metrics
• Contribute to statutory accounts preparation, audit support and year-end processes
• Working closely with stakeholders across finance and the wider business
• Supporting senior committees and briefing leadership on key movements
• Assisting with the annual budgeting and forecasting
• Support daily financial and liquidity reporting, including profit & loss, balance sheet and key prudential metrics (training provided where required)

About You

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Financial Services experience is preferred
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Comfortable working in a lean, hands-on finance environment
• Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work to deadlines
• Experience or interest in systems implementation or finance transformation projects
