Senior Principle Accountant Treasury & Capital

Service Care Solutions are working alongside Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council who are looking for an experienced Senior Principle Accountant (Capital & Treasury) to join their team on a long term contract.

Role: Senior Principle Accountant (Capital & Treasury)
Location: Dudley
Salary: £300+ per day (Umbrella/limited)
Working: Hybrid (3 days from home)
Contract: 12 months on going

Role Overview:

• Monitor the Council’s capital programme in collaboration with service accountants and report to senior management and members.
• Ensure compliance with capital governance and external funding regulations.
• Manage daily and strategic treasury activities, including cash flow, borrowing, and investments, in line with the Treasury Management Strategy.
• Prepare statutory financial documents such as the Capital Strategy, Investment Strategy, and Treasury Management Policy.
• Lead on financial accounting for capital, treasury, and leasing in accordance with accounting standards.
• Provide technical advice to finance colleagues and senior officers across the Council.
• CCAB-qualified accountant (e.g., CIPFA, ACCA, ACA)
• Strong knowledge of public sector capital and treasury finance
• Experience with financial reporting and statutory compliance
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
