Senior Probation Officer

Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Senior Probation Officer to work with the Probation Service in the Yorkshire and the Humber Region.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to public protection and rehabilitation by leading a high-performing team within Sheffield PDU.

Job Summary:
Location: 45 Division Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire. There is travelling involved in this role but expenses will be covered.
Contract Type: Temporary
Duration: 22 weeks, with possibility of extension
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £22.83 p/h

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manage a team of Probation staff, providing professional supervision and leadership.
* Oversee delivery of high-quality offender management to ensure public protection and reduce re-offending.
* Distribute and monitor workload to achieve operational objectives.
* Ensure compliance with operational standards and national policies.
* Drive performance improvement and manage change.
* Liaise with key partners across criminal justice and public protection systems.
* Represent the service at multi-agency forums and meetings.
* Support staff development through coaching and performance reviews.
* Maintain and monitor case records using NDelius and OASys.
* Promote diversity, inclusion, and anti-discriminatory practice.

Person Specification:
* Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma or equivalent recognised by the Secretary of State for Justice (e.g., DipPS, DipSW with probation option, CQSW).
* Proven experience within a recognised probation provider within the last 5 years.
* Management experience including line management, performance oversight, and staff supervision.
* Knowledge of offender management, risk assessment, safeguarding, and public protection.
* Skilled in using probation IT systems such as NDelius and OASys.
* Committed to professional standards, equality, and rehabilitation outcomes.
* Flexible working ability, including some evenings/weekends.

This role requires Enhanced DBS check
