Rate: £350 per day Umbrella Inside IR35

Contract Length: 3 months

About the Role

We’re seeking a driven and experienced Senior Project Lead to join an organisation in the West Midlands playing a key role in the delivery of SWIFT – the region’s innovative ticketing and mobility solution.

As part of the Transport for West Midlands team, you’ll manage end-to-end delivery of significant digital or system-based projects within the Swift Programme. You’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies, private sector partners and innovation communities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of Swift projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet time, quality and budget goals
• Manage the full project lifecycle using structured gated governance and PM frameworks
• Develop and monitor detailed project plans and budgets
• Oversee procurement, contract administration, risk/issue management, and stakeholder reporting
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, promoting transparency and effective delivery
• Support strategic direction and continuous improvement within the projects function

Requirements:

• Proven experience delivering multiple, complex digital or system-based projects
• Strong planning, budgeting, and risk management expertise
• Effective stakeholder and supplier management skills
• Experience managing public or grant-funded projects is a bonus, but not required
• Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams in a public sector setting (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of transport technologies or digital transformation is desirable
