First couple of weeks based in the office, after which possible hybrid working 2 days a week working from home. Please Note: Hybrid working is not guaranteed as is dependent on the needs of the service.

Description

This post manages a number of officers in the Pre-construction team. The emphasis of the post is on delivering the larger 'Special Projects', including specialism in procurement, Fire risk assessment, building safety and compliance, planning of rectification programmes of works to ensure Croydon Council's statutory compliance is being met.

Experience of Project Managing Pre-Construction phases of works ie. RIBA Work Stages 0 - 4 is required.

As a Pre-Construction Senior Project Manager, the role is expected to:

·Make decisions as to planning & remedial actions needed along with understanding the consequences of actions and the importance of decisions, taking full account of the needs of tenants and leaseholders.

·Plan, manage and direct specific pre-construction teams undertaking a range of special & ad hoc projects.

·Research latest trends in products, components and materials and latest construction techniques.

.Keep abreast of; changes in legislation, regulation, and code of practice; development of solutions to housing need; policy development; implementation of plans and strategies; funding bids and cost and benefit analysis.

·Leading and managing on innovative high value / specialist projects / programmes such as digital services; estate regeneration schemes; environmental sustainability programmes and new projects arising from government initiatives/ directives.

• Must be able to drive using their own transport (ie. Car).
• The post-holder may occasionally be required to attend meetings or events in the evenings or at weekends.
• Relevant Project Management Qualification / Experience.
