We are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to join the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team, managed by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council and supporting Merthyr Tydfil CBC.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior-level role focused on managing the Supervisory Body function and supporting high-quality, person-centred assessments.

• Triaging and prioritising DoLS applications

• Liaising with care homes and internal teams on DoLS procedures and responsibilities

• Commissioning and reviewing assessments from Best Interests and Medical Assessors

• Quality-assuring reports for legal compliance and person-centred practice

• Supporting and deputising for the DoLS Coordinator

• Contributing to service improvements and best practice

• Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration

• Best Interests Assessor (BIA) qualification

• Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS framework

• Experience working within Supervisory Body functions

• Ability to manage complex and high-risk cases, including Court of Protection involvement
