Band 3 Senior Technician - QC Laboratory
?? Location: Perth, Scotland
?? Contract: 6-month fixed term (potential to go permanent)
?? Shifts: Rotating early and back shifts (20% shift allowance)
? Minimum Requirement: BSc in Microbiology or related field (or equivalent experience)

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Technician to join our Quality Control (QC) laboratory team in Perth. This is an exciting opportunity for a technician to contribute to a high-performing lab environment. The role is initially a 6-month contract, with the potential to become permanent depending on performance and business needs.

• Collect and process samples for microbiological and pH testing.
• Conduct testing on plated agar, bottled agar, and fluid media.
• Perform microbiological testing in strict compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001 standards.
• Accurately report non-conforming results to the QC Team Leader or Quality Manager.
• Follow laboratory procedures and regulatory requirements (UKAS and others).
• Execute contamination checks and physical assessments of media.
• Maintain high standards of aseptic technique and pipetting accuracy.

• BSc in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Strong understanding of ISO 17025 testing procedures.
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and pipetting.
• Experience with:
  • Contamination checks
  • pH and conductivity testing
  • Membrane filtration
  • Media fertility testing
• Previous lab experience is advantageous but not essential.

• Early Shift: 06:00 - 14:30
• Back Shift: 14:00 - 22:30
• Rotating every 2 weeks
• Shift allowance: 20%
