Job Description - Senior Waste Enforcement Officer

11 months contract with a local authority

Job Purpose

To lead and coordinate waste enforcement activities within the Facilities & Environment department, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting responsible waste management practices.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

Lead investigations into illegal waste disposal, fly-tipping, and other environmental offences

Issue enforcement notices and prepare case files for legal proceedings where necessary

Conduct site inspections and gather evidence in line with regulatory requirements

Liaise with internal departments, external agencies, and legal teams to ensure effective enforcement

Provide guidance and support to junior officers and contribute to team development

Essential Experience Required

Proven experience in waste enforcement, environmental health, or a related regulatory field

Essential Qualification Required

Relevant qualification in Environmental Health, Waste Management, or a related discipline.

Additional Information

Location: Darby Close, Cheney Manor Industrial Estate, Swindon, SN2 2PN, United Kingdom

Working Hours: 37 Hours Per Week
