Job Description
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in London for a Housing Services Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will lead the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) and related services, providing advice to senior stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate both the revenue and capital budget preparation, budget monitoring and closure of accounts work, including capital financing, for Housing Services
• Collaborating with Heads of Services to support budget forecasting and monitoring.
• Designing complex costing models to enhance service efficiencies.
• Monitoring data against the Council’s revenue and capital budgets.
• Demonstrating strong leadership skills with a proven record in a housing finance role within local government.
• Completing statutory HRA returns.
• Contributing to the formulation of a comprehensive 30-year financial business plan

CandidateCriteria

• CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant with relevant PQE
• Experience of HRA/Housing Finance within a Local Authority
• Experience of revenue and capital budget preparation, budget monitoring and closure of accounts
• Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
