Job Description - Service Support

Job Title: Day Care Support Worker
Location: Various community-based day care settings
Pay Rate: £20 per hour
Hours: 34 hours per week
Contract Type: Temporary / Ongoing

About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Day Care Support Workers to join our community-based services supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex health needs. You'll play a vital role in enhancing the lives and independence of the people we support through personalised care and activity delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care including personal care, nutrition, hydration, and medication support.

  • Develop and deliver individualised activities to promote life and social skills.

  • Monitor and support the physical and emotional well-being of service users.

  • Maintain accurate care records and contribute to support plan reviews.

  • Support financial procedures and promote independence in managing personal finances.

  • Build positive relationships with families, carers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, and health & safety policies.

  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety in all service locations.

  • Mentor new staff, students, and volunteers.

  • Participate in fundraising and community events.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting adults in a care or community setting (paid, voluntary or personal experience).

  • Knowledge of person-centred care and support approaches.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Understanding of health and safety procedures.

Desirable:

  • Health & Social Care Level 2 qualification (or willingness to work towards).

  • Experience supporting individuals with behaviours of concern or complex health needs.

Additional Information:

  • 34 hours per week across flexible shifts.

  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites.

  • Must hold or be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

  • Must complete all mandatory training.

  • Participation in supervision, appraisals, and team meetings is essential.
