Settlements Analyst

A leading global financial services firm are seeking a detail-oriented Settlements Analyst to support back-office operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth trade settlements, mitigating operational risk, and maintaining compliance with market and regulatory standards. You’ll work closely with Front and Middle Office teams, custodians, and brokers to ensure timely and accurate processing.

This is an initial 6-month contract role based in Glasgow with hybrid working available, the daily rate for the role is £207 per day via an Umbrella company.

Key Responsibilities

• Match internal trade records with market/broker execution data and resolve discrepancies.
• Pre-match and send settlement instructions to custodians; follow up on unmatched or failed trades.
• Issue trade and FX confirmations; execute payments as required.
• Forecast funding needs and initiate funding requests.
• Investigate and resolve cash and security breaks.
• Maintain strong knowledge of domestic and local markets.
• Apply understanding of collateral and margin processes.
• Perform operational controls and support process improvements.
• Assist in system testing and implementation of new tools.
• Respond promptly to internal and external queries.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in Back Office Settlements within wealth management, private banking, or investment banking.
• Strong knowledge of Fixed Income Bond settlements, including CDs, ECPs, and new issues.
• Familiarity with SWIFT messaging is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, analytical, and team-oriented mindset.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
