Site Manager: North East

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Freelance Site Manager to oversee a civils project in the North East, commencing immediately. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing civils projects, with specific experience in general plotworks.

The successful Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring the project is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all on-site activities, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, plant, and materials.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations (HSE).
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries and progress reports.
• Liaise with the project team, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Resolve any on-site issues or challenges promptly and effectively.
• Drive the project forward to meet key programme dates.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on civils projects.
• Demonstrable experience in general plotworks is essential.
• Valid CSCS card (Manager level).
• Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
• First Aid at Work (preferred but not essential for application, may be required before starting).
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
• Based in or able to easily commute to the North East region.
