Job Description - Skilled Mechanical Fitter

Pertemps technical are recruiting for Skilled Mechanical Fitters on behalf of an industry-leading manufacturer of advanced packaging machinery.

About the Role: You’ll be assembling and fitting precision machinery from detailed technical drawings, ensuring high build quality and attention to detail throughout the process. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone experienced in special-purpose machinery builds.

Location: Bristol, UK - BS14
Full-Time | Day Shifts
Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00
Ongoing position
Start Date: Mid August
£18-£20 P/H DOE

? Key Responsibilities:

Assemble and fit bespoke packaging machinery
Work from mechanical engineering drawings
Perform precision fitting, alignment, and testing
Collaborate with engineers to resolve build issues
Maintain quality and health & safety standards
Measurement and allignment techniques
Workshop mechanical assembly
Build, test and commissioning of packaging machinery
Building sub-assemblies
Pneumatic installation
Set up and running of customer products prior to on-site commissioning

?? What We’re Looking For:

Mechanical fitting or machine build experience (special-purpose equipment preferred)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
Relevant mechanical qualifications or apprenticeship (preferred)
