Devon County Council is seeking an Experienced Social Worker to join our dynamic South & West Devon team, supporting children and young people in our care. You will be based in Totnes and work with families to deliver child-centred, family-led outcomes that promote safety, stability, and long-term wellbeing.

In this role, you will build and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, and their families. You will model high standards of professional practice and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Your work will focus on delivering timely, high-quality assessments that ensure consistent and improved outcomes for children and young people, with no drift or delay.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Social Worker with registration with Social Work England
• Successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
• Significant experience in children's social care, including multi-agency and court work
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, models, and theories related to children’s social work
• Competent in case recording and care planning
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Social Workers must be available to manage their caseloads and conduct face-to-face visits as required to meet service needs. Home-working may be possible and can be discussed at interview.
