?? About the Role Lancashire County Council is seeking a committed and experienced Family Safeguarding Social Worker to join our Fylde Coast team, based in Fleetwood and covering the Fylde and Wyre area.
You will play a crucial role in achieving the best outcomes for children and young people, ensuring they are safe, protected from harm, and supported through early intervention and relationship-based social work.

?? Key Responsibilities

• Undertake social work assessments and direct work with children and families.
• Deliver timely, strengths-based interventions that promote stability and safety.
• Work within the Family Safeguarding model alongside multi-agency partners to coordinate and deliver targeted support.
• Support children and families through a collaborative approach to risk reduction and long-term change.
• Maintain clear, analytical, and well-documented case records in line with statutory requirements.

? What We're Looking For Essential:

• Qualified Social Worker with registration with Social Work England.
• Proven experience in safeguarding and child protection work.
• Sound understanding of relevant legislation (e.g., Children Act 1989/2004).
• Excellent assessment, engagement, and decision-making skills.
• Commitment to promoting positive outcomes through integrated working.

Desirable:

• Experience working within the Family Safeguarding model.
• Strong multi-agency working and confident in managing complex cases.
