We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Children's Social Worker to join our dynamic Initial Contact Team in Shropshire. This crucial role is the first point of contact for families and children requiring social work support, making a vital impact on their lives.

About the Role:

• Respond to referrals and conduct initial assessments of children and families, identifying needs and risks.
• Apply professional judgment to determine appropriate interventions, ensuring children's safety and well-being.
• Engage with families, building rapport and understanding to collaboratively develop solutions.
• Work effectively under pressure, managing a demanding workload and prioritising urgent cases.
• Complete detailed and accurate records, adhering to statutory guidelines and timescales.
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a Children's Social Worker.
• Experience working within an Initial Contact Team or similar fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to child-centered practice and safeguarding.
