Social Worker - Next Steps Team

Are you a passionate and dedicated Social Worker looking for a unique opportunity to support young people on the cusp of adulthood? We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our brand-new Next Steps Team.

This is your chance to be part of an aspirational team focused on Pathway Planning for young people aged 16 and 17, ensuring they have the support and guidance needed for a successful transition. You'll be playing a crucial role in a service with strong links to our Children Looked After and Care Leavers services, and you'll benefit from integrated support from Staying Close and Emotional Well being professionals.

As a Social Worker in the Next Steps Team, your primary focus will be on our vital duty function. This means you'll be:

• Responding to urgent visits to young people aged 16 and 17, providing immediate support and assessment.

• Coordinating a proactive approach to risk management alongside the Team Manager, especially when an allocated social worker is unavailable. Your quick thinking and decisive actions will be key to ensuring young people's safety and well-being.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues across services to ensure seamless transitions and comprehensive support for young people.

• A Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.

• DBS on the update service

• Experience working with young people, particularly adolescents, is highly desirable.

• A strong understanding of Pathway Planning and the needs of young people transitioning to adulthood.

• Excellent risk assessment and management skills.

• The ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to urgent situations.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with young people and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

• A commitment to promoting the best outcomes for young people.
