Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
Contract Duration: End of September 2025 - July 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

Tradewind are recruiting on behalf of a Secondary school in L17 for s passionate and dynamic Sociology & Criminology Teacher to join the humanities department on a maternity cover basis from late September 2025 until the end of the academic year (July 2026).

• Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Sociology and Criminology to KS4 and KS5 students.

• Monitor, assess and report on student progress, ensuring all pupils are supported to succeed.

• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity, debate and critical thinking.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Humanities department to share best practices and maintain high academic standards.

• Contribute to wider school life, including pastoral duties and extracurricular activities where appropriate.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Sociology, Criminology, or a related subject.

• Proven experience teaching at KS4 and/or KS5 level.

• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students.

• An enhanced child-only DBS or willingness to undertake one.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
