Location: Bromley

Hybrid: 3 days from Office

Contract: 6 months (High potential of extension)

Day rate: Umbrella

Overview

A leading financial institution is looking for an experienced Functional Designer to support major technology transformation programs in Corporate Banking. These programs cover Payments, Trade Finance, Loans, Client Liquidity, and Virtual Accounts. The role focuses on early solution shaping, high-level design, and supporting the delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and shape conceptual solutions

Develop high-level end-to-end designs for banking technology initiatives

Assess impacts across technology, operations, and compliance

Support delivery teams throughout the Agile development lifecycle

Ensure solutions follow design and architectural standards

Work with enterprise architects and external vendors

Mentor junior team members and influence senior stakeholders

Required Skills and Experience

Experience in technology design or architecture, ideally with a development background

Strong experience in corporate banking and regulatory programs

In-depth knowledge of UK, EU, and cross-border payment schemes

Experience with solution integration, data analysis, and interface design

Proven leadership in managing onshore, offshore, and vendor teams

Desirable

TOGAF certification

Experience in Agile projects

Background in major banking systems
