Speech and Language Therapist

We are recruiting for an experienced Community Speech and Language Therapist to work with Stroke patients throughout the Belfast Trust.

Requirements

• Degree/diploma in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent is essential
• All candidates must be registered with HCPC
• Up to date Immunisation records to complete a full occupational health review
• Ability to build rapport
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective time management and prioritisation skills
• Ability to work in fast paced user-centric environment
• Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting including an enhanced Access NI check and compliance due to the nature of this work

Responsibilities

• Deliver a service, which meets all organisational and professional responsibilities
• Undertake comprehensive assessment of patients and formulate individualised management and treatment plans
• Work as an autonomous practitioner
• Identify clinical problems and use clinical reasoning skills to establish patient-centred goals and treatment plans
• Communicate effectively with patients and ensure there is an understanding of their condition
• Promote and support effective team working, fostering a culture of openness and transparency
