Are you passionate about sports and making a difference in young people’s lives? We’re looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (Sports) to join a specialist educational setting in Sutton. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with students who may struggle in mainstream education and wants to help them thrive through physical activity and positive engagement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting students during PE and sports sessions, ensuring they’re safe, engaged, and included.
• Using your sports background or transferable skills to encourage participation and boost confidence.
• Helping to manage behaviour by recognising and calmly de-escalating potential disruptions.
• Building strong, respectful relationships with students and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each student, especially those with complex emotional needs.
• Creating a supportive and inclusive space where every student feels valued.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in PE, sports coaching, or similar roles with transferable skills.
• Previous experience working with children or young people with emotional or behavioural challenges.
• Confidence in managing behaviour and making quick, thoughtful decisions when needed.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for helping students succeed, both in and out of the classroom.
